Hey everyone. Found this joke video done by CollegeHumor, who admittedly actually have a pretty bad record when it comes to sexism and queerphobia. While poking fun at it all, though, I thought this one was genuinely amusing in a different way. Especially in the light of saccharine Disney. Don't get me wrong, I do love Disney sometimes. Just not all the time.
Aw, they took it down. But you can still get it from google videos
I thought it was really cute!
Except the part about the penis getting chopped off for a sex change...I looked at a radical feminist website (AROOO) a while ago (must have been feeling masochistic lol) and EVERYONE who posted there actually seemed to think that that's how it's done...And South Park (though less explicitly) also made it out to be a brief operation that can be done on a whim, within a day (in the episode where Mr Garrison becomes "Mrs" Garrison...even though she's not married??). 'Tis an unhealthy misconception to have, I mean, how could you survive just having it cut off, you'd bleed to death...
But anyway, cartoons are cartoons and I found this one cute and amusing.
I'm glad you liked it. I agree, it's probably not good that it perpetuates that unfortunately stereotype. But as you said, cartoons are cartoons. People should take that part of it with a grain of salt, much like the other ridiculous things people manage to survive from in cartoons.
