There was some really nice pictures, and many beautiful brides. My mom is actually getting re-married next month, and I'm sad that I haven't been able to be involved with her wedding (though I am flying down for the day). I just got a previw picture of her wedding dress cause she got it yesterday, and even though she just got up, hadn't showers, and had no make up on, she looked radient.

Wonderful!
I'm currently writing a book on weddings and so I'm just going to have to chip in here: I've been working in a beautiful Reception Venue specialising in Weddings for 3 years now, and I have seen soooo many brides who don't look like the stereotypical bride and are incredibly beautiful. And bridesmaids, too. (My tip: you really don't need to dress all your bridesmaids the same. They're individuals, they don't need to be in uniform - this can often be quite unflattering! Dress them for their personality and shape, maybe having a fabric or hair accessory in common.)
I'm telling you now, most brides simply do not look like the attached picture. And, they don't have to.

And I agree, it's about looking 'radiant', not about the make up or some of the most ridiculous things that traditional images of 'beautiful brides' harp on about.
