Why do we still need Feminism? Because people like Dick Masterson are still being heard. Granted, nothing will ever eliminate some prejudiced people, and just because they exist doesn't mean that a movement for change has failed. What is more worrying is that Dick Masterson is getting heard; a book, an appearance on Dr. Phil, his highly successful website. If you want to enter into the thoughts of a truly sexist mind, click on the link to his webpage below. But only if you want to get really, really sick, or really, really angry. Men Are Better than Women

"Naturally as a man the moment I thought of an idea I set to work implementing it — in this case by writing it. It would have been exactly the same if my idea had been the wheel or the Hoover Dam. That’s because I’m a man and instead of taking shit from the world around me, I can shove shit right back into it as well."
- Dick Masterson, www.menarebetterthanwomen.com/top-ten/ "Top Ten Reasons Why Men Are Better Than Women" ...and I am suggesting that that is exactly what Masterson has done in writing his "Top Ten Reasons Men Are Better Than Women": shoved a whole lot of sh^t there into the world. And not just any old sh^t, mind: this revolting stuff is of the most incohesive, most uninformed, often contradictory, hateful and overwhelmingly pathetic nature. It stinks. Dare I suggest, had Masterson actually attempted building the Hoover Dam (refer to the "Top Ten..." article), it would have leaked and been ripped to nothing like a flimsy, second-rate seive held under a high-pressure hose (at least, I feel that that would be the case, if his engineering in any way resembled the strange logic he employs in his writings). No prizes for guessing this one: I'm offended. I'm offended by the broad brushstrokes Masterson uses to paint a picture of each gender that is so blurred and inaccurate as to be nearly unrecognisable. I'm offended by the way he gushes and fumbles on, claiming some knowledge of his opposite sex - this he lacks. I'm offended by what he says about my sex; equally, I am offended by his portrayel of his own sex, as when I think on my many male friends his suggestion men are all as Masterson says they are disgusts me, for they most certainly - and thankfully - are not. Most of the men I know would agree with me that this article and the views expressed in it are both untrue and pathetic; those very few men who don'twill not find themselves in my acquaintance for long. It offends me that Masterson alleges the two genders are so very different - I have found that, over the course of my life, in my friendships with men, women and all that lies between and beyond, that there truly is more difference within the genders than between them, when it comes down to an individual level. And I most definately am offended by anyone who chooses to take Dick Masterson's views - as they are presented on menarebetterthanwomen.com - seriously. I have breifly read some of his 'sh^t', as he himself seems happy to define it (see quote above ) and I add on that count at least, it seems he has the ability to see his work for what it is and call a spade a spade. I am choosing not to commence a rebuttal here and now - I haven't the time (and for the record, I have five wrist watches given to me on various occaisions - I wear none of them as my inner sense of time and personal body clock are such that not one of them is needed).
