Introduction...
May 25 is 'Bleeding Is NOT A 'Luxury' Day, a chance to speak out against GST [Goods and Services Tax] on pads, tampons, menstrual cups and other manners of providing for hygiene and comfort during menstruation, as well as a general open discussion on a taboo topic and an experience that is, for many women, a monthly occurrence.
This year marks the 10 year anniversary, as well as the 10 year anniversary of a tax on menstrual care.
This is about the experiences of women - which are diverse. It is about hygiene, about comfort, about a fair go.
I strongly encourage anyone with further comments, questions or ideas to attend WAC Meetings (10am every Monday in the Women's Room), email myself or my co-officer at Emilykate.Cowan@adm.monash.edu.au or Erica.Chan.adm.monash.edu.au, leave a note in the Anonymous suggestions box in the Women's Room or slip a note under the door of the Women's Office.
As always, we'd like to see as much constructive input as possible!
