NETWORK FORUM! [Open to both women and men]
(1) WAC Meeting, Monday 22nd of March, 10am-11am in the Women’s Room [Women Only]
The Women’s Affair’s Committee Meeting is where the Women’s Department does our administration and planning. If you want to make suggestions as to cool things to do this year, or general improvements, or even just to have your say or listen in, everyone is free to come along! This session, we’ll be discussing our plans for Safe Sex Week coming up after the Easter break.
(2) Women’s Music Appreciation Group, Tuesday 23rd of March, 11am, Activist Space [Open to both women and men]
Run by our resident ethno-musicologist and Women’s Officer Emily Kate herself, the Women’s Music Appreciation Group is for discovering and discussing signed and unsigned female artists. No expertise is required, just a love of good music! There shall be good company, there shall be good tunes, there shall be lollies!
The Activist Space is very close to the MSA desk, just stand in front of it, look to your right, and then walk in that direction until you hear music! It’ll be coming from a pair of glass double-doors to your left.
(3) Girl Zone, Tuesday 23rd of March 2pm-3pm in the Women’s Room [Women Only]
Due to popular demand, Girl Zone is now happening every week! Run by the amazing Ada, one of the WAC members for this year, Girl Zone is an hour for discussion and awareness about queer women and the issues they face. So come for great company and an insightful chat!
(4) FREE Self-Defence Workshop! Wednesday 24th of March 11am-12pm, Conference Room [Women Only]
Enjoyed the last workshop? Couldn’t make it? Well, we’ve another one lined up for you, packed with great information about mental and social techniques guaranteed to boost your confidence in social situations, as well as practical physical techniques. If you’re interested, please RSVP to Emilykate.Cowan@adm.monash.edu.au as soon as possible, since there are only 25 spots available! Remember, you can also rock up on the day, but if so, you risk disappointment... so RSVP!
The Conference Room is on the 1st floor of Campus Centre in the Airport Lounge, just look for the pair of double doors directly opposite the Grain Express. Hope to see you there!

Thanks for the amazing discussion last week, girls! Next week, we’ll be looking at a feminist fairytale, ‘The Silent Castle’, written by . There will be print outs on the day, but in the meantime you can read the story in full on our forum here.
So, if you like comfy couches and fascinating discussion, come along!
