I'm really looking forward to seeing familiar faces and introducing new people - female students as well as 'feminist boys' - to the MSA Women's Dept! We've put some planning into showbags and today we started adding a stencil-printed design onto the bags in the same colour as the newly-painted Women's Room Annex! Tuesday February 23's advanced performance of "The Vagina Monologues" is a wonderful opportunity for those who won't be able to make the Thursday night performance or the following performances on Saturday and Sunday, so come along and show your support to the cast members - many of which are Monash students, some performing for the first time. I encourage all members of the Monash community to wear a touch of black on Thursday February 25 in support of victims of violence against women and please, join us in a casual, caring environment for the first Thursdays in Black Afternoon Tea of semester! One last note: I was there for every day of O Week 2007, 2008 and 2009, and I want to share one big lesson I have learnt: be sunsmart, be very sunsmart! Okay, so I burn easily anyway, but I have a little constelltion of freckles which have emerged one by one at each of these O Weeks. It's very easy to underestimate the sun during O Week! I strongly encourage you to wear sunscreen - and re-apply, have a hat (or parasol hehehe I love my parasol, twirltwirltwirl, funfufun!), take some time out in the shade (perhaps by taking part in one of the activities mentioned aboved ), drink enough water and don't forget your sunglasses!

The first day of Orientation Week has been amazing!
Heaps of FREE showbags, containing info on the Department, a FREE issue of Dissent, FREE tampons and other goodies (LOLLIES!) have been handed out, and we've had over 100 sign-ups to the eBulletin!
The tours of the women's room proved so popular I ran a second tour for all those women who were just missed out on the scheduled tour. (Note: there will be another tour on Wednesday, departing from our Women's stall at 2pm).
I've met many wonderful people and look forward to seeing you around the Women's Room, and at the many Women's events over the next three weeks.
Oh, and don't miss out on tomorrow's FREE, preiew performance of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues in the Conference Room up on the First Floor of the Campus Centre, 2pm - for further details, come chat to us the Women's Stall at the O Week Carnival!

Yet another amazing day on Clayton Campus!
I am delighted to report that even more people signed up to the eBulletin than yesterday!
Further, the free preview performance of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues was absolutely outstanding, and entirely deserving of the wonderful turnout it received - in fact, in 3 years of involvement with Monash Student Association Women's Department, I have never seen a bigger turnout and thank those who came and those who performed so superbly! I look forward to Thursday, Saturday and Sunday's performances at Yah Yah's Bar, 99 Smith Street.

It's wonderful to see new people in the Women's Room enjoying chocolates, reading books, drinking tea/coffee and I'm looking forward to another great day tomorrow!
